Fanelli Cafe
About Fanelli Cafe
Fanelli Cafe has been operating at 94 Prince Street since 1847, first as a grocery, then a saloon, and in its current continuous form since Michael Fanelli arrived in 1922. When SoHo transitioned from a manufacturing district to an arts community in the late 1960s, Fanelli's was the only bar in the neighborhood staying open past 6pm, and it became the gathering spot where artists and blue-collar workers shared the same barstools. The pressed-tin ceiling and dark wood have not changed much since.
