About Sahara Lounge
The Sahara Lounge is a beloved East Austin institution that draws a diverse crowd with nightly live music spanning Afro Jazz, indie, blues, swing, Brazilian, and funk, capped off by the signature Africa Night on Saturdays. A free buffet of beans, rice, chips, and meatballs accompanies weekend shows, and the fire-lit backyard patio is one of the best outdoor hang spots on the east side.
